I thought I would start blogging again.
What on earth would motivate someone to do that in 2025?
Hope.
What’s there to be hopeful about?
I really don’t know but I think there is some interesting dignity to be found within baseless hope. I don’t need things to get better. I just need to keep going because I’m curious. So it is enough that I feel like it’s worthwhile to put some words out there.
What are you going to write about?
Theatre, art, circus, synths, process, if I allow myself to be alone then I find stasis and boredom, if I think about being useful for the rest of you then I’m interested. So I’m going to write about the things I care about in the hope that it’s useful for someone else to read.
Why here?
Social media is a soup of enshittification, slop and a tool of anti-human billionaires so I find it impossible to use any of them with a smile on my face.
Thankfully I have this little space I made for myself, what feels like 100 years ago. Here it’s just me, I set the policy and tone, there is no algorithm other than my own complex utility function.
What happens next?
I’ll write some stuff maybe I’ll read out some of those words and skirt dangerously close to podcasting. Only it will just exist here, the problems start with syndication.
