The Middle Bit in LONDON

8 Dec 2009 19:30

FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!

At the Tristan Bates Theatre

Where exactly is it Ed?

Following sell-out success in this year’s Bristol Mayfest Ed Rapley’s The Middle Bit is making it's way to London this December…

“Have you ever felt like you just can’t be bothered?”

In this funny and thoughtful show notorious Bristol performer Ed Rapley attempts to overcome his own lazy demons...and fails.

18 months in the making, loaded with humour and pathos, this one man show is unlike anything else. Mixing autobiography, stand-up comedy and theatre with multiple personas, searing honesty, utter stupidity, and great comic timing.

The Middle Bit is part two of a trilogy of shows, that starts with 10 Ways to Die on Stage and ends who knows where?

“One of the most darkly funny, tension managed performances this noble reviewer has ever seen. Seek him out.” Venue on 10 ways to die on stage

Supported by Arnolfini, Mayfest and Residence.
Directed by Holly Stoppit.

Warning: Contains adult material and some bad language

  • @andytfield is this what you mean? For me context is the world around and outside the work: its time & place.
  • @andytfield Yes critics should be looking at the work's meaning & the artist's intent rather than just the machinery which carries it.
  • @Actionherolive elevate those legs and let the blood rush back down.
  • @hannahnicklin anything at all by Grant Morrison which you haven't read yet: The Invisibles, The Filth, Seaguy, Seven Soldiers of Victory
