A really stupid and wilfully self-destructive twelve year old child.

The liberal democrats sole real purpose as a party, being the third of three and utterly hamstrung by the monstrously backwards electoral system in the UK, was to introduce electoral reform.

This was their only hope.

Their only chance of becoming a powerful force and being given a chance to actually represent the views of the people who voted for them was Proportional Representation.

So as king maker at the last election they had their opportunity, their once in 2000 years chance to change the system just a little.

They blew it in impressive fashion.

Instead of saying "Mr Cameron, you hateful un-angel, you vile worm of base self-interest, you cancerous swine, you boot trampling upon a human face - the price of power is a referendum on Proportional Representation in 2 months and your whole party will campaign vigorously for the yes vote. If you say no: we walk. We walk on a matter of principal and our voters will only trust us more. Because we have stuck up for the principals on which they voted for us! We cannot lose. If you say YES then we recognise that this is a suicide mission, because we will have to agree to eat the terrible filth of your hideous party for the next 5 years. YET we willingly sacrifice our party for the good of the country! Through our death will arise a reformed and pluralistic democracy which represents at least 51% of the population instead of just 30%. By such small increments are people brought towards freedom."

Instead of that, they said... actually who knows what they said, the words do not matter. They were destroyed at that negotiating table. The Conservatives bought power for an empty promise and a puff of air.

The outcome of the Liberal Democrats botched negotiations is that they have sold the very soul of their party for nothing. Nothing.

A political party is a function of the trust voters place in it to represent their views. Like paper money it has no real value. It can only function if we believe in it. Withdraw that belief and the thing collapses.

The rich believe in the Conservative party because it represents their views and aids them in hoarding wealth and stealing from the poor. If you are not amongst the most wealthy 5% of the country and you voted for the Conservatives: you have been fooled, they don't care about you, to them you are not even food, you are a by-product of food, for they live on the wealth of the planet which you render unto them with outstretched hands.

I no longer believe in the Liberal Democrats. I have voted for them at every opportunity since i turned 18 because they were the best representatives i could find. A poor shadow of my views but if you don't vote for some one you can be sure the landed gentry, industrialists and their Daily Mail reading puppets will, because that is how to maintain the status quo.

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS AGAIN.

So that's it really. Because i am sure my views are mirrored in a huge swath of their former voters. They will be buried. Struck down without trace. If there was a General Election tomorrow not a single Liberal would be left. They will not survive the next election.

Because it turns out they are politically inexperienced muppets and willing play things of a benighted administration which seeks to further consolidate the wealth of this country into the hands of the top 0.01%.

Oh and electoral reform?

As you enter London vast billboards campaign against an insipid Average Vote system. I have little hope that it will happen, too many vested interests, too much money stand rallied against it.

Farewell Liberal Democrats may others learn by your lesson in failure to stand by their principals or die.
