The Big Heads

I took a break from my punishing schedule of painting and decorating to travel up to Derby with the lovely Tom Wainwright and the Joy Society to perform the Big Heads at the Ashbourne Festival.

The characters are amazing but the heads themselves appear to have been created in the mold of 16th century torture devices. I am still scrubbing the fiber glass from my arms and legs 2 days later and will probably have to burn the clothes i wore that day.

Ok so it isn't as bad as all that! Actually doing the Big Heads is great you basically get license to do all kinds of wierd and wonderful things. Licking old ladies, peeing in the street, chasing children and scaring dogs. They are visceral characters and great fun to play with.

All in all a great experience.
